Jaffa Cake Style Chocolates - Easter Sunday ideas

Who doesn't love the combination of orange and chocolate!? Whether you're heading to an Easter Egg hunt or you want to surprise someone with a sweet treat, this Paleo take on Jaffa Cakes is a perfect option for Easter Sunday.

  • 1 cup of almonds
  • 100g Dark Chocolate
  • Silicon Mold for the Chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons of Cacoa
  • 1/2 a large orange
  • 100g Dark Chocolate
  • 3/4 cup dates

Lets get started!

  1. Preheat the over to 180 Degrees.
  2. Roast the almonds for 4 minutes. You can alter the time depending on the taste you're going for but I would start off at 4 minutes max for your first time making these.
  3. Add boiling water to the cup of dates
  4. Start melting the dark chocolate
  5. When the almonds are done, add them to a food processor
  6. Remove the dates from the water and add these to the food processor along with the raw cocoa powder and blitz until you get a fine consistency
  7. Add three tablespoons of orange juice and the zest of the orange to the food processor along with the dates and almonds. Blend altogether for 30 seconds. Ensure you don't blend for too long or the consistency will be too soft.
  8. Pour the melted chocolate into the silicon mold. Pop in fridge for 5 mins. Remove from fridge, and place the almond soft mix into the silicon mold. Close over with some more dark chocolate.
  9. Pop into the fridge for 20 minutes.

  10. Ps. These will last for about 7 days, once stored in an air tight concealer in the fridge.

Enjoy! X
